remanence of fall

While enduring this brutal oklahoma heat and digging through old school pictures on my computer, I came across an album of me and my mom on the way to my fall orchestra concert. (wow back in the day.....not really) They are quite amusing given the fact I was trying for "the most awkward picture". But I love looking at them not only for a good laugh but to remember there was such a thing as cold weather and having to wear longsleeves and coats.

By the way I am wearing one of my FAVORITE lipsticks that I need to restock in, by YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) in the mean time I wear my "nude" Bobbi Brown shade. They are both good shades! Looks good without looking like make-up. ya know?

my birkenstocks bring all the boys to the yard.

after 4 whole days of waiting. they came. the orinigal, not that exciting, comfy, all natural, old school sandal/shoe. My Birkenstocks. I first saw them on free people and immediently had to have them. well not immediently...but i was drawn. They could go with so much! and I personaly like the sock look. (thats what attracted me most.)

not to mention the awesome box.

This is the result of wanting to swim in a well lit pool at 11o'clock at night.
Its pretty amazing.
While uploading these photots, I was listening to a wide range of old 80's hits from disco to thecno and I have to say it gave this whole post an intresting take. I recomend you go back and look through these pictures while listening to some.

LAvender Ice-Cream

Since I love California so much I named it LA-vender Ice Cream....get it?
I dont usually follow by the book with my recipies I just kind of go with it. I wanted to make healthy & fresh treat and viola! Here it is:

1 Cup of cream
1 Cup of halfandhalf
1 Tbs of honey (heaping)
1 Tsp lemon zest
2 eggs
A Sprinkle/Handful of lavender leaves  and
1 dried lavender flower


In a small pot warm up cream, half/half, honey, and leaves. Low to medium setting for 10 to 15 min.
In seperate bowl whisk to eggs and lemon zest then place mesh strainer on top. Slowley pour cream mixture into bowl then whisk quickly. Crumble dried flower and stir in. Then put back in pot and on heat for 5 min. (low setting). After cooked pour mixture into a bowl and place in fridge to cool. After cooled pour into ice cream machine. Serve and Enjoy.
